Blood Tests

A blood test is a medical procedure that involves taking a sample of blood from a vein in your arm or finger. The blood is then analyzed in a laboratory to provide information about various aspects of your health, such as your blood cell count, cholesterol levels, blood sugar levels, hormone levels, and more. Blood tests are a common and important diagnostic tool used to assess your overall health, identify and monitor medical conditions, and guide treatment decisions.

We offer a diverse range of medical services, including routine laboratory tests, advanced imaging, and access to multi-specialty doctors' clinics. Our experienced team stays up-to-date with the latest advancements in medical technology to ensure that we can provide the most comprehensive and accurate testing possible.

The "MAGIC" tests refer to a group of blood tests that were recommended as part of a screening program for early detection of chronic kidney disease (CKD). The tests are:

Microalbuminuria test: measures the amount of a protein called albumin in the urine, which can indicate damage to the filtering units in the kidneys

Glomerular filtration rate (GFR) test: measures the rate at which blood is filtered in the kidneys, which can be an indicator of how well the kidneys are functioning

Creatinine test: measures the amount of creatinine in the blood, which is produced by muscle metabolism and can be an indicator of kidney function

Blood urea nitrogen (BUN) test: measures the amount of urea nitrogen in the blood, which is produced when protein is broken down in the body and can be an indicator of kidney function

Calcium, phosphorus and albumin levels test: measures the levels of calcium, phosphorus and albumin in the blood, which can help to detect imbalances that can occur as a result of kidney disease.

The "Magic 12" blood tests are an expansion of the other Magic tests and include additional tests that can help diagnose and monitor CKD and other related conditions. The tests are:

It's important to note that these tests are just one part of a comprehensive evaluation for CKD and other related conditions. Other tests, such as urine tests and imaging studies, may also be used to help diagnose and monitor kidney function.
